Overview of Job Function:

The Systems Software Engineer is a member of Verint’s core engineering team, and is considered a Subject Matter Expert on standard technical areas such as Windows, Databases and Networking.

As a member of Verint’s Research and Development (R&D) System Engineering Team, this role will serve as a liaison between R&D, our customers, and regional Support and Services teams. The Systems Software Engineer will work with Verint’s Services organization and the internal Research and Development team, while supporting the product. The position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues. Additionally, the role is responsible for maintaining deep knowledge of Verint’s products to ensure that the right technical approach is taken in troubleshooting, prioritizing, and resolving technical issues. This role will be based in Alpharetta GA.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate significant understanding of the product architecture

  • Troubleshoot and resolve tickets

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a timely manner with excellent communication and follow-up skills

  • Drive the Support/Services and R&D groups to complete key action items on escalations until the issues are resolved within mutually agreed upon timelines

  • Translate and manage complex technical issues through strong collaboration across teams

  • Drive Root Cause Analysis to identify and resolve technical issues

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study

  • 3 years of software development experience with a focus on technical support, software installation, or presales

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to tailor the explanation of technical concepts to a broad audience which may include varying levels of understanding and perspectives

  • Ability to understand & read log files & willingness to go into details to understand the root cause of issues

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and to creatively solve problems

  • Must be able to plan and control his/her own work while able to multi-task

  • Experience in working with a multi-layer product hosted on Windows based servers which includes web applications, services, web services and databases interacting together

  • Highly passionate, motivated and self-directed with ability to work independently

  • Position can require up to 10% travel within the US based on business needs

  • Position will require some on-call support every 4-6 weeks on average

  • Successful completion of Verint background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, and SS verification;

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with web security components such as Single Sign-On with Windows & other IT security aspects

  • Experience with Weblogic administration

  • Experience with writing SQL Scripts

  • Ability to use/understand scripting languages to automate tasks

  • Ability to diagnose technical system performance issues

  • Microsoft OS and Security experience

  • Familiarity with Contact Center operations and technology software and tools is highly preferred.

  • 3 years’ experience in a customer facing role within a technology environment strongly desired
